With midterms in less than a week, Americans who want to vote in person need to make a plan. In many states, your work schedule doesn’t have to get in the way.
While there’s not yet a federal law, each state has their own laws on voting and time off. More than half of the country allows employees to take time off to vote, and a certain amount of those states will pay for you to do so.
