Starter Cristian Javier and three relievers combined for a no-hitter and a 5-0 Houston Astros victory over the Philadelphia Phillies that squared the 2022 World Series at 2-2 Wednesday night.
It was just the second no-hitter in World Series history, joining the New York Yankees' Don Larsen, who threw a perfect game in Game 5 of the 1956 Series against the Brooklyn Dodgers. And it was just the third no-hitter in playoff history, the first since the late Roy Halladay pulled the feat off in 2010.
This was the second time Javier started an Astros no-hitter during the 2022 season, as he worked with two relievers to combine on a no-hitter at Yankee Stadium against the New York Yankees on June 25.
