Russian military forces continue their advancement to Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital city, on the fourth day of the invasion. Ukraine has survived another night under assault by Russian forces as attacks continue to intensify. Two large explosions rocked an area south of Kyiv just before 1 a.m. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office said one of the blasts was near the Zhuliany airport, and the mayor of Vasylkiv, about 25 miles south of the capital, said an oil depot there was hit, according to the Associated Press. Terrified men, women and children sought safety inside and underground, and the government maintained a 39-hour curfew to keep people off the streets. Elsewhere, Russian forces blew up a gas pipeline in Kharkiv, the country’s second-largest city, according to the Ukrainian president's office. Russian forces also attacked Boryspil International Airport, near the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv. Ukraine closed its airspace to commercial flights, saying Russian missile attacks presented too high a risk. Reuters reported the airport was evacuated. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., said on Twitter that Russia wants the airport as a base of operations.
