She's gold! Fencer Lee Kiefer became the first American woman to win an Olympic medal in individual foil Sunday. The med school student from Lexington, Kentucky, beat 2016 Olympic champion Inna Deriglazova of the Russian Olympic Committee 15-13 in the final. Kiefer became the first American, male or female, to medal in the individual foil event since 1960. It was the ninth Olympic medal for Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics on Sunday after being shut out of the medals on Day 1. #tokyoolympics #teamusa #tokyospirit
