History was made Wednesday night as women competed in the first 1500 meter freestyle trial for Team USA ahead of the Tokyo Olympics. Leading this historic race was Katie Ledecky, the current world record holder for the 1500 meter freestyle. “I’m just so grateful that we have the mile in (the Olympics) now,” Ledecky said. “I’ve spoken about the equity that we finally have there and I think that’s a big step.
