Late post… What a week. A lot of transition. The end of an era as 8 years of @nbcbrooklyn99 came to an end last night. Also hosted my 3rd season finale of @AGT on Wednesday which marks the end of my deal with all things @NBC. I have no idea what’s next. It’s been this way for @therealrebeccakingcrews and I for 32 years. Just asking God to go before us and show us the way. Letting infinite wisdom tell us just what to do. Years ago, I used to have a voicemail message on my Palm Treo—😂 and it went like this. “Hello, you’ve reached Terry Crews, I’m busy taking it to the next level and I’m not going back. Please leave a message.” That message hurt a lot of feelings. People asked me how dare you think you ain’t coming back. Who do you think you are? Why say that Terry? You just going to leave us behind? And my answer is YES. If you can’t grow with me, then I have to grow on without you. Nothing personal, it’s just recognizing to live a new life there are things and people you can’t take with you or they will pull you back into bad things, situations and outcomes. The truth is I am never going back, and those who can’t respect that don’t deserve my respect. I will never go where I’m not invited so sometimes that means I spend a lot of time alone, and I have learned how to say no to people who never respected your input and opinions in the first place. I said this a lot during the pandemic and it’s even more true as I prepare for my life’s next journey… “Sometimes, your greatest hopes are destroyed to prepare you for something better.” For what’s better to come, you have to make room by getting rid of what’s just adequate, or ok. A lot people won’t understand, and that’s okay. It’s just important that I always have a choice and live life on my own terms and not anyone else’s. Everything ends, so what’s new can begin. ❤️🔥
