At first they claimed to be targeting Hamas while "minimizing" civilian casualties. Now they openly argue that all civilians in Gaza are complicit with Hamas or are terrorists. The "only democracy in the Middle East" has given itself a license to kill thousands, starve children, deny clean water to an entire population, displace the sick and elderly from hospitals, and forcibly transfer 85% of the population from their homes. Israel's leaders are deliberately making Gaza uninhabitable. They hope it gets so bad the population "chooses" to leave just to survive. The numbers stagger. Israel has killed an estimated 30,000 defenseless civilians in Gaza in just over 80 days. Entire apartment buildings with civilians inside are being obliterated; hospitals are hit with missiles. The Palestinian leadership in Gaza -- including academics, writers, artists, doctors, lawyers -- is being wiped out with precision weapons as part of a campaign of targeted assassination. Experts say we are witnessing one of the most extensive killings of unarmed innocents via bombardment in history. The US funds this ghoulish operation yet has the support of less than one percent of the rest of the world's population when it blocks a desperately needed ceasefire. To think that this killing could be stopped in a day if President Biden had the moral compass to speak out forcefully and threaten to cut military aid to the Netanyahu government. This is not really a war against combatants. It's actually a planned assault on 2.3 million civilians using October 7 as pretext. It is being carried out by autocratic religious-nationalists who recklessly failed to protect their own people on that fateful day. But they found more than enough time to be diligent in planning an attempt to erase all Palestinians from Gaza.
