So for the past 3 days I've had a lot of abuse thrown at me by the right / anti-trans lot after they discovered news coverage from some 6 years ago. To be clear I have never danced with the Royal Ballet or at the Royal Ballet School, it is an absurd thing to believe and shows how little you know of ballet. but this isn't about ballet this is pure transphobia. Comparing my dancing at 36 after 2 years to a 13 year old of the same grade who's been dancing 10 years is rather disingenuine, but its not about that it's pure transphobia. I like many dancers am my own harshest critic, nothing you say about my dancing isn't anything I've not told myself but it's not about the standard of dancing it's pure transphobia. Shaming my body isn't the feminist win you think it is, you should use that energy to focus on actual structural problems in ballet with body standards, diversity and power dynamics but you wont it's just pure transphobia. I have always advocated for more adults to dance or reconnect with their love of dance, it's something I passionately believe in, you don't have to be the best you just have to enjoy it, I have also been visible so that other's realise they're not alone so I've been waiting for this "backlash" a long time but I won't ever stop dancing or being visible. I'm truly sorry that you have such hatred in your heart that you feel the need to attack trans people on a bank holiday weekend. #transdancer #transrightsarehumanrights #transandproud #lgbwiththet
