Just a little reminder that our upcoming run starts in less than 2 weeks! If you haven’t heard yet, we are so excited to have partnered with @plus1org so that $1 from every ticket sold on many of our upcoming headline shows will be going to @equalitync -- the oldest statewide organization in the country dedicated to LGBTQ rights. With North Carolina still lacking comprehensive non-discrimination protections for the entire LGBTQ community, ENC is committed to both legislative and public education efforts to raise awareness about the discrimination queer folks and other vulnerable groups face on a daily basis. This includes a focus on LGBTQ youth, particularly those from more rural regions across North Carolina. One of the ways ENC does this is through the organization's Rural Youth Empowerment (RYE) fellowship, a year-long program that funds the community-based work of eight queer youth from rural parts of North Carolina. Other focuses for ENC include work surrounding the HIV epidemic, racial justice and developing programs and resources related to building a coalition of pro-equality legislators. Equality North Carolina is committed to building a safe and inclusive future for all LGBTQ North Carolinians, and to fighting for marginalized groups in every corner of the state.
