And yes, you can choose. We normally notice feelings before we recognize the thoughts that preceded them. Feelings sure can seem like they happen to you. But they happen FROM you. Catch the moment, and then choose whatever you like. It’s okay to feel them, some are very useful and help serve you, but you are always in charge of how engaged you want to be with them, how long to hold on to them, and to take them as what they are- a message that there’s a thought or action to attend to. Not every feeling warrants your attention. Sometimes they’re old stories and old habits, and they don’t suit you anymore.
