Art Fairs are not the problem. They are fun and great ways to meet others and to share your love of art. All good. Artists should go to at least four art fairs in their lives.
But a certain complicit self-justifying cynicism.
Vichy politics are not activism. It is only taking the money. I want all artists and galleries to make money. We are all part of the system. And yet ……….

The Sackler family built museum wings to launder money. The art world used to say “No, this is the good Sackler.”
The owner of the Basel Art Fair is a Murdoch. Now, the art world clucks, “No, this is the good Murdoch.” Same as it ever was. Complicit with the two worst families ever.
PS. You have to love that in addition to listing all their major advertisers and mega-gallerists on their Power 100 List, @artreviewpower100 - Art Review also listed this same Murdoch.
