Tarik “the Tank” Khabez would have made his debut at Glory on the 30th of January. Glory had the difficult task to find a capable opponent and after a few possible options that were cancelled this was finally found in Plazibat .... When Tarik was already in full training, 14 days before the fight we learned Plazibat couldn’t fight so it got cancelled!! Again the search for another capable opponent started but unfortunately without any luck. We had no choice other than accept this and Tarik put all his focus on his new career as a firefighter again. Until yesterday January 18th...we got a call if Tarik was willing to fight Rico as his opponent withdrew. Our answer was immediately YES, Tarik was ready to fight again! Given both their fighting styles this fight would have been an explosive fight the audience would have loved to see and a true asset to Pay Per View. The Glory photographer came to the gym today and we truly believed Glory was going to make the fight between Khabez VS Verhoeven happen, but unfortunately other forces and a lot of political bullshit made the organization choose another opponent. We don’t understand why an organization would not choose a fight that would be spectacular no matter what the outcome would have been. For now Tarik is done with fighting and is focusing on other important things... It is what it is and it’s not in our power to change a thing.
