Dear friends and fans,
After three of the most exhilarating professional years of my life — hosting more than 1,000 hours of live television, on a platform that has garnered over 3 billion video views and has won every award there is to win— HuffPost Live and I are parting ways.
I've had a blast, rumbling on-air with jesters like Neil Patrick Harris and Russell Brand… with heroes like Phil Donahue and Dick Cavett… with writers like P.J. O’Rourke and Stephen King… with thespia...ns like Jeremy Irons and Ian McKellen and Bruce Dern and Jeff Daniels… with filmmakers like Ron Howard, Judd Apatow and Michael Moore, with Cabinet Secretaries, felons and newsmakers: Mandelas, Kennedys, the Princess of fucking Serbia. Looking back, it’s a bit surreal that this has been my daily routine.
But sadly, in the past 12 months, HuffPost Live has endured a death by a thousand cuts. The latest "innovation" is not to go live every day. Instead, we’ll produce catchy little videos to chase Facebook clicks, because nobody else has thought of doing that.
This leaves no room for what I do best, nor for what has made HuffPost Live unique: having captivating conversations.
I owe a huge debt of gratitude to the team who helped found this experiment, especially Roy, Josanne and Cindy. My best wishes to everyone who's still at HuffPost Live. Godspeed! And to everyone who's enjoyed watching, thanks for all of your support... and subscribe to my podcast, #WeThePeople LIVE! You ain't seen nothin yet.
Smooches,
Josh
