I remember when I was asked to be the spokesperson for The Humane Society of the United States: animal activists had just begun to be vocal about the use of animal products in makeup. The awareness of the abuse of animals was just beginning. I had been given some gorgeous mink coats at the time and knew right away that they would never be worn. The times were a-changing and people were awakening: we could see things we had never saw before. I am a great lover of animals. They love so unconditionally and trust so easily and bring so much companionship. I have been blessed with the company of many.
