In all honesty, I feel like I’ve been operating in the shadow of Junebug’s success since 2010. Record labels and managers have been asking me to write another hit that can crossover to mainstream radio for as long as I can remember. Having that in the back of my head while trying to make real records has been daunting and sometimes depressing. Ultimately, it has led me to periodically self sabotaging my music career and shutting off. Luckily for me, it’s been long enough now that I feel like I can start fresh. For those of you who have stuck with me throughout the years, you’re my family, and this next record is for you and you only. I’m returning to Empire Blues.
