Hailing from the wintry town of Kemi, Finland, Sonata Arctica formed in 1996, and have since recorded 8 studio albums. Their power metal debut, the 1999 album 'Ecliptica', this year celebrates its 15th anniversary, yet the band have since evolved over the years to include symphonic and progressive elements to their sound.
As a highly influential and popular act within their genre, artists from across the globe have credited and adored their work, including Tuomas Holopainen o...f Nightwish, and M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold.
Over the past few months, we have been in contact with the band and their management regarding a release to help commemorate their legacy, as an extra gift to the fans who have supported them thus far.
Ouergh Records are honoured to announce that we shall be releasing 'A TRIBUTE TO SONATA ARCTICA', an album featuring cover versions of classic Sonata Arctica tracks, performed by fantastic, established bands from all over the world.
This release shall be the first of its kind for the band, and will be available to purchase both as a physical CD and digital download. We are currently on the lookout for more outstanding bands to contribute and feature as part of the album.
