The Southern Tuolumne County Historical Society began the restoration of the Gamble Block (Wells Fargo Building) in Big Oak Flat with the dismantling of the Miner's Bean Kettle. This appendage to the original stone Gamble building was deteriorated beyond preservation. In accordance with guidance provided by the Tuolumne County Historic Preservation Commission significant architectural, structural and cultural components were retained for use in a future display.
