YOUNG PINOY SCIENTISTS WIN TOP AWARDS IN 1ST ASEAN STUDENT SCIENCE COMPETITION
BANGKOK, THAILAND. Filipino young scientists from Caraga Region continue their winning streak this year, winning major awards during the 1st ASEAN Student Science Project Competition held in Pathum Thani, Thailand, July 6-10, 2015.
Kenneth Michael Angelo N. Antonio, Thea Marie L. Tinaja and Marian R. Cabuntocan of Bayugan National Comprehensive High School in Bayugan City (Agusan del Sur) bagged 1s...t Place in Best Project: Biological Science, Junior Level Category and BEST OF THE BEST PROJECT Award, Junior Level Category.
Angelo Gabriel A. Urag from Father Saturnino Urios University - High School in Butuan City also won 1st Place for Best Project Physical Science, Junior Level Category.
Millene Ruth Edranan and Sam Jetro Cudillo of Surigao Regional Science High School who represented the Philippines for Innovation Category bagged 3rd Place.
Hosted by The National Science Museum of Thailand, the First ASEAN Student Science Project Competition is subdivided into several categories such as Physical Science, Biological Science, Applied Science and Innovations and is participated by seven countries around ASEAN region.
Last May this year, the same group of students from Bayugan National Comprehensive High School took home the Third Grand Prize in the 2015 INTEL-International Science and Engineering Fair held in Pittsburgh, Pensyvannia, USA.
