Stirling Lions would like to thank Rob Milevski and David Micevski for their efforts in leading the senior first team in 2020. Both Rob and Dave have decided to move on and our Committee wish them all the very best in the future.
Stirling Lions are pleased to announce Ian Ferguson as the new First team coach , assisted by John Lavery .
Ian has a long and successful history as a football player. Starting out with Clyde , then moving to St Mirren and then making a big move to Rangers in the Scottish Premier League . Ian won nine Titles in a row at Rangers under Graeme Souness and Walter Smith and followed it up with a Tenth Title under Dick Advocaat. Ian has also been capped by his country Scotland Nine times as a player. Ian also won a Scottish FA cup scoring the winner in a 1 nil victory over Dundee United . Ian is an inductee into the Rangers Hall of Fame.
Ian has also coached at A league level with North Queensland Fury & Perth Glory and Northern Fury FC (Qld npl) Ian guided Perth Glory to their first ever A league Grand Final.
Ian was asked by Football Director Keegan Ashley about his thoughts on joining the Lions
Ian responded by saying he was delighted to be joining such a big club with a proud and successful history , the facilities are exceptional and he’s looking forward to meeting the players and the challenge of getting the club out of Division 1 and back into the top flight.
