FRANCISTOWN SPAGHETTI JUNCTION OPENS FOR PUBLIC USE
The Spaghetti Junction in Francistown will be temporarily open to road users for a period of three weeks starting from next week Monday. According to the Ministry of Transport and Communication, this temporary measure is designed to help de-congest traffic around the interchange during the festive period. “In a day, hundreds of vehicles transit the Francistown interchange popularly dubbed the ‘spaghetti junction’ and since construction began in February 2015, engineers have observed an increase in the congestion especially during peak hours and holidays,” a statement from the Ministry of Transport reads. Therefore opening up the interchange partially is one such measure to alleviate inconveniences for road users.
