Hey Guys and Gals…The rumors are true...On this festive day of party song clips and album artwork covers also comes some bummer news. Greg, our dear friend and guitar player, has decided to exit the Zebrahead train. As most of you know, Greg has a young daughter and family at home in Atlanta. And, being away from them all the time is just too tough. We completely understand and support his decision. Being a dad is the most important mission anyone can have. Greg will al...ways be a part of the Zebrahead family…we love him…and we will miss him!!!!!!!!!!!
But with this sad news comes something to celebrate - Dan from Death By Stereo has jumped aboard! Many of you have seen Dan’s shredding skills while filling in for Greg on a couple Zebrahead tours and we’ve given you just a quick sample of his work in the recent sneak peeks. But, if you have any doubts about Dan’s ability to fill Greg’s very big shoes, we think you’ll be blown away when you hear him on the new album. Please help us welcome Dan into the MFZB family and let Greg know he will be missed.
Now call your friends, and let’s get this party started…
Below is a special message from Greg:
they say all good things must come to an end. and they do, they do. and so my baby, i never thought that we do too. in a decision to spend more time at home and not miss out on any of the little joys of watching my daughter grow up, i am announcing my departure from the band i helped create and build for the last fifteen plus years. i will always cherish the many memories and look back at these years with great fondness. i would like to thank all the fans who bought a record, came out to a show, or just listened to and enjoyed our music. all of you made it possible for me to live out an improbable dream. i’d like to thank all of the bands with whom we shared a stage, with a special shout out to all the past and present members and crew of Reel Big Fish. with over two hundred show played together, they gave us the opportunity to win new fans on three different continents, always treated us with more respect than we probably deserved, and really taught us how to tour on both a financial and personal level. i’d like to thank some behind the scenes people like frenchy, yoko, and bernie. a career in this industry would have never been possible without your belief in us. but most all, i would like to thank ali, ben, ed, matty, and justin for riding this crazy roller coaster for the past decade and a half with me. it’s been one hell of a ride! i wish you guys many more years of success with dan. he’s an amazing guitarist and an awesome dude!
i would like to invite everyone to check out my latest endeavor, gatsby records. http://gatsbyrecords.com, http://facebook.com/gatsbyrecords, @gatsbyrecords i hope to bring to life the dreams of many new artists in the years to come, and give them the same opportunity all of you have given me.
thanks for memories,
greg
