06. Oakland Rope ft. Fox & Py
The guitar was just three notes plucked by my friend Jamie 10 years ago. I kept the file and made it into a kind of Asian Kung Fu sound track with delays and reverses and buildups. I sought out two different vocalists that I found in various ways looking on the internet and talking to friends. I thought I was going to choose one or the other but to my surprise both of the vocals worked very well together and I feel like Py is a great soulful melodic balance to the amazing rolling rhymes of Fox.
The beats are an homage to the old Full Cycle DJ Krust vibe in 90's drum n bass.
