After 25 years living in London I decided to apply to become a UK citizen. I thought citizenship would be handed on a silver plate after all I've done (paid lots of taxes) . But noooo. I had to take 2 tests (one to show that I could speak English, and the other about Life In The UK), get a Permanent Residence card and then fill out a 100 page application form basically saying I'm not a criminal. And now I'm approaching the finishing line. Now I'm at the town hall waiting to pledge allegiance to the Queen. And then the last step is to sing God Save The Queen. 😂 For real! I hope they have an autocue.. Oh, here comes a lady in a cape and a wig, gotta go.....
