Between 1978 and 2007, a competition know as the Afro-Asian Cup of Nations was (sporadically) held between the winner of the AFC Asian Cup and the CAF African Cup of Nations⚽️🏆

The history of 'Foot et Monde Arabe' spans both of these confederations, and so we are delighted to have the Afro -Asian Cup of Nations Trophy on display in our Institut du monde arabe exhibition 🤩

This very special object is on loan from Algeria who won the prize in 1991 - the only Arab country to do so 🇩🇿
