1991
· SUMMER: Warren Banks, Toren Atkinson and Quentin Rogers, envious of the success of friends Mystery Machine, mention aloud that they should form a band.

· JANUARY 22: Warren Banks, Toren Atkinson and Devon Presseau form The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets. Our first show was at Greg's Place (now called Area 51) in Chilliwack, BC, our home town, opening for Mystery Machine.
· Drummers include Josh Pratt, Jonathan Hutchings, Chris Bay, and The Bean (at different times, obviously).
· Chris Woods enjoys a short stint as rhythm guitarist.
· We cut our first demo tape, Gurgle Gurgle Gurgle, with the tracks "Diggin' Up the World", "Cthulhu Dreams" and "Three Hour Log"
· AUGUST 6: First Veritable Shrine Commemorative Ball, with Eugene's Axe, Go Guy, Slow Motion Walter, Abacus, Truk, Suzy Slam, GoGuy, Alien & the Psycho, and Mystery Machine in Abbotsford BC.
· Video for "Three Hour Log" is produced.
· The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets Colouring and Activity Book is produced.
· OCTOBER 9: Veritable Shrine Commemorative Ball Part 2 with Howard Verses Willie, Draining Faces, Swindle Stick, and Jonathan's Wrath in Abbotsford, BC.
· NOVEMBER 30: 2nd round semi-finals of Shindig with The Woo-Woos and Movieland (who later became Pluto) at Railway Club, Vancouver BC. (We lost to Movieland)
· DECEMBER 30: "Diggin' Up the World" video release party at Earthquake Annie's in Chilliwack with Howard Verses Willie and Red Deer.
1993
· Devon Presseau leaves the mainland. Chris West becomes our new bassist.
· Jordan Pratt of Mystery Machine joins the band as a steady drummer.
· The People of Innsmouth, official fanclub of the band is formed. Newsletters by the same name begin production.
· MARCH: We cut our second demo tape, HURTS LIKE HELL! with the tracks "Screams From R'lyeh", "Tarred & Feathered", "My Tank", "One Gilled Girl", "Stitching Uranus", "Jimmy the Squid", "Chunk", "Diggin' Up the World" (Power Ho Remix), and "Worship Me Like A God."
· MARCH 18th: The Thickets perform at the Third Veritable Shrine Commemorative Ball in Abbotsford BC.
· The 1994 Cyber-Cthulhu Calendar is produced featuring art by Toren Atkinson, Joe Fulgham, Bob Fugger, Warren Banks, Chris Woods, and Josh Pratt.
· AUGUST: First Veritable Shrine Circuit, the newsletter of the VS
Cooperative, is produced.
· Video for "Worship Me Like A God" is produced by Bob Fugger.
· SEPTEMBER 13: "Worship Me Like A God" video release party at Earthquake
Annie's in Chilliwack with Draining Faces.
· Chris West flakes out. Bob Fugger becomes our new bassist.
· Bob Fugger announces his intention to film a short film based on the H. P. Lovecraft story "From Beyond."
· DECEMBER 17: Thrashing Bee III, with Red Deer, Draining Faces, Molypod, Jonathan's Wrath and Green Limo at Evergreen Hall in Chilliwack BC
1994
· Our third demo tape, CTHULHURIFFOMANIA! contains the songs "Colour Me Green", "Space Ghosts", "A Thousand Fists", "Big Robot Dinosaur", "Rocket Science", "Flee!", "Everyone Calls Me Ted", "Mustard Gas", "Diggin' Up The World" (acoustic), "Yog Sothoth".
· "Space Ghosts" is released on the compilation CLOSET COLLECTIONS AND CONCEPTIONS FOR THE CRITICALLY CONFUSED.
· "A Thousand Fists" is released on the compilation M.E.A.T. RAW #4
· "Colour Me Green" is released on the compilation iMPACT MUSIC VOLUME 3.
· "A Thousand Fists" and "Big Robot Dinosaur" are released on the compilation FRASER VALLEY CHAMPIONS
· The 1995 Cyber-Cthulhu Calendar is produced featuring art by Toren Atkinson, Bob Fugger, Warren Banks, Chris Woods, Dennis Detwiller, Tom Kalichack, and Josh Pratt.
· OCTOBER 8: The band rocks The Casbah in San Diego.
· OCTOBER 15: We play at some lame music festival in New Orleans after buzzing through Las Vegas on the way from San Diego.
1995
· APRIL(?): Our first CD release, Cthulhu Strikes Back hits the public.
· Video for "Colour Me Green" is produced by Bob Fugger.
· SUMMER: The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets go online.
· AUGUST: The 1996 Cyber-Cthulhu Calendar is produced featuring art by Toren Atkinson, Warren Banks, Peter Smith, Chris Woods, Dennis Detwiller, Bob Fugger, Mark Bell, and Josh Pratt.
1996
· Invited to perform at the first annual H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland, Oregon. Met directors Aaron Vanek and John Strysik and actor Jeffrey Combs.
· The 1997 Cyber-Cthulhu Calendar is produced featuring art by Toren Atkinson, Warren Banks, Rebecca Strong, Peter Smith, Chris Woods, Dennis Detwiller, Tom Kalichack, Allen Koszowski and Dave Carson.
· "Burrow Your Way to My Heart" is released on KATHODE RAY MUSIC - FIGHT PRIME TIME compilation.
1997
· Release Great Old Ones, our second compact disc. This CD compiles the best of Hurts Like Hell! and Cthulhuriffomania, we also add the previously unreleased "Please God No", "Six-Gun Gorgon Dynamo", our cover of "Walking on the Moon" and live versions of "Hookworm" and "Burrow Your Way to My Heart."
· Summer: DragonCon, where we open for Gwar, sort of....
· August: Toren heads out to spread the NecronomiCon in Providence, Rhode Island. Visits Lovecraft's grave and all of his regular haunts.
· October: Perform at the second annual HPLFF in Portland. Our video, Worship Me Like A God screens.
1998
· April: Freezerburn Alternafest in Whitehorse, Yukon Territories.
· Summer: The band heads out to GenCon in Milwaukee, WI, where we open for They Might Be Giants.
· Summer: Toren spends the summer helping Aaron Vanek work on his short film "Return to Innsmouth" based on H. P. Lovecraft's story "The Shadow Over Innsmouth". This includes a birthday fundraiser and getting plaster all over his apartment while making the monster costume.
· October: HPLFF with Giant Bug Village, Bishop of Battle
· "Goin' Down to Dunwich" and "Ogdru Jahad" are released on TOMBSTONE PARK compilation.
1999
· Summer: "House of Clocks" is released on the compilation FOR LUCIO FULCI: A SYMPHONY OF FEAR.
· OCTOBER Spaceship Zero: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, our third compact disc is released. This is the first disc to contain a multimedia CDROM file.
· OCTOBER 16: HPLFF with Biship of Battle and Giant Bug Village. Premiering this year is Bob Fugger's short "From Beyond" and Aaron Vanek's "Return to Innsmouth".
