Almost edited my own Wikipedia page, but really, that is not for me to do. However, if anyone is interested, I'd say all of the following sentences are incorrect or subjective at best. Feel free to fix it for me. It's a little worrying how much is wrong, given that I tend use Wikipedia myself for much of my research...
"(US rights were immediately picked up by Rykodisc)." - this was not immediate. There was a delay. US Bad Vibes came out later than ROW.
"Cole continued redefi...ning his sound with Bad Vibes (1993), a collaboration with producer/remixer Adam Peters, using a harder and psychedelia-inspired sound." - I have never been inspired by psychedelia. Adam maybe... we were trying to make an electronic record...
"Love Story (1995) established stripped-down, largely acoustic sound landscapes with the help of Stephen Street (famous for his work with Blur and The Smiths) and former Commotions Neil Clark and Blair Cowan" - Blair does not play on Love Story.
"despite at least two full-length recordings being locked in its vaults (later released in 2002 by One Little Indian)." The Negatives was released by XIII Bis, and WAR? Records in N. America. etc was released by XIII Bis and One Little Indian in N. America.
"In 2000, after being a solo artist for more than a decade (and a couple of years without a contract), Cole teamed with a younger generation of New York musicians under the name The Negatives. The group consisted of Jill Sobule, Dave Derby of the Dambuilders, Mike Kotch and Rafa Maciejak, who recorded an eponymous CD, released mainly in France." - The Negatives were formed in NYC in 1997-98. The Negatives was released in all of W Europe through XIII Bis and all of N America via WAR?
"which also collected a number of outtakes (recorded from 1996 to 2000) on 2002's Etc." - etc was the album I wanted to release after Love Story in 1996-7, minus the songs from these sessions which ended up on The Negatives, plus some demos and instrumental sketches from unfinished film soundtrack projects.
"The lyrics focus on the reality of a young American middle-class parent: leaving New York for a life in the suburbs, worrying about the stock market crash, fantasies of escaping marriage, or being "no longer young, no longer driven to distraction, not even by Scarlett Johansson." " - This is astonishing presumtuous.
"The recording of the album was entirely financed by advance purchases by his fans, and later distributed by Tapete Records" - Tapete contributed, also, significantly.
"Cole's 5.3 handicap tied 11th place on Golf Digest's top 100 list of musicians" - that WAS the case, whenever that issue came out... it's 6.5 now.
""Believe" by Cher (done as a lark);" - says who? It's great song.
Wow, that was worse than I thought. Yes, it is very quiet Sunday here in Bochum.
