This instant mat-classic featured botch after botch by The Hardcore Legend, including two consecutive tries at a leapfrog spot, where both Kaufman and I believed ourselves to be the man being lept over...which meant two consecutive spots where the two of us knocked each other silly - ramming skulls at full speed, as if we were longhorn ram...s competing for the affection of an attractive female. Yes, it really happened - 30 years ago, today! I lost the match.
I think it's safe to say that no one in attendance that night at the National Guard Armory in Clarksburg, West Virginia thought they were witnessing any type of legend in the making! Nothing says confidence like a cliched "I'm #1" hand gesture, and a pair of generic black shades!
