Homs province: Regular soldiers and pro-regime fighters from the Popular Committees and Hizbullah have taken over the town of Abel, which is south of Homs city and to the northeast of the Dab'a military airport. Rebels have taken full control of the military airport after violent clashes, 4 rebels killed. Regular forces who were stationed there retreated to a military installation east of the airport. Rebels have taken over ammunition and weaponry.
The Daba' military airport ...has been under the control of the Air-defence force since 2009, after jets stopped being used in it and were moved to the al-Sh'eirat military airport in Homs province. There were attempts earlier to transform the airport into a civilian one for the central region, but after the beginning of the revolt it was stalled and turned into a base for the military in Reef al-Qseir.
2 rebels were killed by clashes with Popular committee fighters in the village of Tel Shinan, another was injured. 6 rebels including a defected lieutenant, were killed by overnight clashes by the town of al-Qaryatein, the rebels took over a military checkpoint north of the town. The city of Rastan is under regime bombardment.
