It’s a privilege to accept this cheque on behalf of the residents of Fort McMurray and the Municipality of Wood Buffalo for $405,762, raised by the Ontario Sikhs and Gurdwaras Council, and the Ontario Gurdwaras Committee for the Fort McMurray fire relief efforts.
Thank you so much to the Ontario Sikhs and Gurdwaras Council, and the Ontario Gurdwaras Committee, for collecting the funds, as well as to all the individual Ontarians who gave so selflessly to Albertans in their tim...e of need.
Your acts are in keeping with both the highest ideals of Sikhism, and the time-honoured traditions of this nation.
Albertans are grateful for your help and overwhelmed by your compassion. We can only return the favour, if and when the need arises. And we will.
