ICYMI: The 2016 Medal Winners Open was held in Osaka, Japan on January 15. The competition is open to skaters who are not currently competing and who have won medals in ISU championships such as the Worlds, Europeans, and Four Continents Championships. The ladies event was won by Joannie Rochette, who dominated a very strong field with her performance to “Gravity” by Sarah Bareilles. Carolina Kostner (ITA) was 2nd, and 安藤美姫［Miki Ando] Official (JPN) 3rd. Jeremy Abbott captured the men’s event by a slight margin over Nobunari Oda of Japan and Jeffrey Buttle finished 3rd.
