A programme about the closure of the choir school of All Saints, Margaret Street, broadcast on BBC radio on 5 November 1968.
“In April this year the boys' choir of All Saints, Margaret Street, London
...
, was disbanded: the church was famous all over the world for the quality of its music. One other famous choir school in this country has closed and others are handicapped through lack of funds. Leigh Crutchley investigates what could be a loss to English church music.”
The programme discusses three other London choir schools besides All Saints Margaret Street and includes interviews with Colin Mawby, Christopher Dearnley and the headmaster of St Paul’s Cathedral Choir School, as well as a lengthy interview with a St Paul’s chorister.
