Moneta in Skala, Poland. He survived the Kraków Ghetto, Krakau-Plaszow and Auschwitz concentration camps, and finally Ebensee from which he was liberated by the US 80th infantry division in 1945. Max was the only survivor of his family in Poland, and passed away in Toronto on February 24th, 2013 surrounded by his two children and seven grandchildren.
Max's testimony was collected through the USC Shoah Foundation (Shoah is Hebrew for Holocaust). The foundation was originally established as the Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation by Steven Spielberg.
