ss". This has been the background of director Ann Hui On-wah's most recent two films 'The Way We Are' and 'Night and Fog'.
It was a surprising success for The Way We Are at this year's Hong Kong Film Awards and earned Hui the Best Director award. It also won Best Actress (Paw Hee-Ching), Screenplay (Lou Shiu-wa) and Best Supporting Actress (Chan Lai-wun).
While Night and Fog is set to similar circumstances to its predecessor, it is not a sequel but rather a complementary follow-up to create a diptych of Tin Shui Wai. It stars Simon Yam Tat-wah (任達華) and mainland actress Zhang Jingchu (張靜初). In this video, film editor Clarence Tsui speaks to Hui prior to the Film Awards.
