In 1997 while on tour in Denver Colorado Martin testifies that after one of his concerts he went back to the promoters house and abused his body by overdosing on crack cocaine, the next morning Martin was revived by the breath of God and given a second chance at life. After regaining his composure Martin "happened" to turn on a television set that was located in the promoters living room and by devine appointment landed on a channel where evangelist Joyce Meyer was preaching. In fifteen minutes time Martin found him self on bended knees surrendering his batterd life to the Spirit of God, while reciting a sinners prayer, ultimately receiving Jesus Christ into his heart as his Lord and Savior.
