he son of Marta Cano (Jose's sister) he was Erik's cousin. As children Erik and Andy were very close. Andy was the first person Erik ever told about the abuse from his father. In the years following the trial Andy kept in touch with Erik and attended Erik's wedding to Tammi that took place in prison in 1998. Andy was living with guilt and was suffering from night terrors to which he was prescribed medication to help him sleep.
In 2003 he died from an accidental overdose.

In the years after Andy's death another piece of evidence was found by reporter Robert Rand in Marta Cano's home, a letter from Erik to Andy that was written when Erik was a teenager, where Erik writes to Andy the abuse by his father is getting much worse and he wanted it to stop.
