World-first prototype of driver assistance for an automated perpendicular parking, this electric car is capable of autonomous motion and it can be controlled by a joystick. There are neither steering

wheel nor pedals. The parking maneuver is initiated on a touch screen where red dots represent the range readings by a laser scanner about the environment. The on-board computer processes the sensor data and issues the steering and speed commands to accomplish the maneuver autonomously while ensuring collision-free motion. Two adults and two children can ride in this vehicle named CyCab. The system was developed in INRIA, France in 1999-2003.
