Watchdog investigated and not only confirmed the problems inside the accommodation, but outside of the apartments they found run-down public toilets, grimy floors, dirty chairs, disused chairs around the park and litter by the crazy golf.
After broadcasting the footage to their 4.5million viewers [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpNxEa3l210], Watchdog invited Eileen Downey from Britannia Hotel Group who own Pontins to respond to the complaints. Suffice to say it was quickly apparent that this was no normal interview: whereas many businesses who feature on Watchdog are apologetic to customers in response to complaints, Ms Downey took a very different stance and launched a scolding vendetta against Anne Robinson and Watchdog for their report.
