This is not dangerous, however the green colour will stain most materials, and in extreme cases it can appear at the holes of sockets or even run down the wall from sockets and switches.
Although the slime can be cleaned away easily, the only long term solution is to replace the cables.
Eventually, the cable insulation can become brittle and fracture, which will lead to faults occurring.
The socket shown here is a replacement which was fitted a few years ago, the cables are from 1970 when the property was constructed.
