Watch this rare vintage passenger train of the Escanaba & Lake Superior Railroad as it passed several crossings from Wisconsin into upper Michigan on August 20, 2019. The first locomotive numbered #40
...
0 is a EMD GP38, the second locomotive #300 is a old Baldwin RS12 unit that is most sought after to film by rail fans, followed by an old Soo Line Car, a couple E&LS Sleeper & Dining Cars, a Northern Pacific Baggage Car (generator, water tanks, supplies) and finally a E&LS Parlor Car.
On August 18 - A rumor was going around about this "shippers special" making a run today to the Green Bay, WI area. On August 19 - I found this train hidden off the mainline in a lumberyard (see my last video). August 20 - This morning it was still facing the same direction until about 9am when the power up front switched sides to face north towards Michigan. It appeared they made a last minute plan to go north instead when a passenger of the train stepped off in Pembine by where the old depot once stood. She told us they were packed for an "over-night" trip and was unsure of the final destination. We all knew at that point they were heading to Mass City, MI.
Myself and few other rail fans followed this train up into upper Michigan, many stopped south of Sagola but I continued on past Channing towards the west in the small town of Kiernan, Michigan where I filmed it last..
Watch for a VLOG that I'll be posting with different crossings and more HD footage of this train!
