There has been great excitement surrounding the discovery of commercially viable oil deposits on the north

ern frontiers of Kenya. So with the titanium deposits at the coast and large coal deposits in the eastern province. To top it all, a large underground aquifer has been discovered with enough water to meet the country’s need for the next 70 years?!
While this windfall of good fortune is certainly welcome considering the economic challenges a developing country like Kenya is up against, the question ‘what is the most valuable commodity for a nation, communities, individuals such as ourselves?’ Is it gold? Perhaps oil? Maybe rare earth metals? Or diamond fields? I propose – TRUTH.
Proverbs 23:23 directs every smart individual out to make the most lucrative of investments to ‘Buy the truth and sell it not!’ It is one thing that you can never go wrong with. Its value is always appreciating and has an eternal dividend which can’t be said of any other investment.
The truth, as found in the Gospel, the Word of Jesus Christ will outlast even the heavens and the earth according to Matthew 24:35. This is despite the very terrible onslaught that the kingdom of darkness has launched to ensure that truth is killed. Jesus warns in Matthew 24 of many deceivers impersonating Him, wars, persecution, betrayal, false prophets, increase in iniquity and frozen love. All these will be an intense, deliberate and calculated plot to silence the TRUTH that is Jesus Christ. Verse 13 makes the point that it is he/she who endures (remains steadfast in the faith in Jesus Christ despite the opposing forces, danger and harm to self) to the end (outlasting the persecution, opposition, discouragement, despair, deception e.t.c.) who will be saved (become a recipient of eternal life and crown of glory).
There will be many offers made to cause you to sell truth. Wealth, fame, power, pleasure, comfort and convenience will all make bid for the truth you own. Don’t sell out!
There will be many threats that will come your way in order to abandon truth. Persecution, rejection, discouragement, lack, loss, loneliness. In the face of bribery, that 'sweet' deal, theft, corruption, murder plots, promiscuity, coldness of heart, cruelty, injustice, lying...Don't give up on your faith in Jesus Christ. Don't sell out. Don’t loose heart. Keep moving, keep believing in Jesus Christ wholeheartedly , keep trusting, keep praying, keep reading the Scripture, keep loving, keep sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, keep serving, keep praising, keep worshiping, keep obeying the Word of God ……
As pointed out in Hebrews 11 and 12, consider other believers in Jesus Christ who have been used of God to hand down this faith to us.Consider what they have been through and cling to The Cross with all your heart for this is a matter of eternal life and death. Consider what they suffered and take your faith in Jesus Christ very seriously. Don't joke around with it.It is the greatest inheritance ever given by our loving Father.Don't give up!
