Sadly, after 40 years of operation, this beautiful auto museum and all of it's contents are being auctioned off. The reasons being:
1) The owners passed away
2) The inherits do not want to spend time

with the collection
3) Lack of interest
This truly is a sad day. I have been going to that museum every year when I go on vacation to Maine. Now when I drive by, it's just going to be some old abandoned, boarded-up building that once held 80 antique automobiles
What is very interesting about this collection is that not only did it have some great automobiles, it showed the progression of the automobile as well. It is almost like you are actually there. Besides the automobiles, there were tons of working nickelodeons that you could look through for a nickel or dime, and there were lots of arcade games from the time period as well.
If anybody is interested in purchasing any of this, I suggest calling the Wells Auto Museum when they are open again, the dates being August 10th and August 11th, 2013 between 10:00 AM EST - 5:00 PM EST
