e in 2001 with the Grammy-nominated song Superman from the album America Town, which went platinum. Already climbing the charts prior to 9/11, Superman went on to have a life of its own, becoming a song of healing for the nation. Ondrasik joined superstar musicians for the now legendary post 9/11 fundraiser The Concert For New York, which paid tribute to all the firefighters, police officers and paramedics affected by the events of September 11th. Ondrasik is a passionate supporter of the US Armed Forces and annually creates free-to-soldiers albums titled CD For The Troops. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
