I made this video to defend and vindicate the often maligned forward assist found on the AR15. Either the Army or the Congressional report had a typo when referring to FM 23-5 as the relevant section

EDIT: Just in case you're reading a source that quotes Col. Yount as unable to justify the forward assist on page 4701, make sure you read page 5004 where the Army IS able to justify it and Col. Yount presents that paper to the Congressional committee. It looks like every source on the internet about the forward assist forgot to read that part at the end.
