n Camp was liberated by the US military in 1943, the Jewish inmates were confused by the look of their liberators. The first faces they saw were Japanese-American. A highly decorated unit, the 522nd, made up of Japanese American soldiers were the first to liberate Dachau. Good luck finding that in the history books!
