men Asser worked with, as well as professionals who are astonished SVI was closed down. Asser wrote the feature film "STARRED UP", in part based on his SVI practice, for which he won Best Newcomer at the 2013 London Film Festival. This "SVI" documentary is a production of Community TV Trust who for two years supported Asser's desire for a film recording his groundbreaking work. Nine of his SVI men from HMP Wandsworth participated in the filming and share remarkable, frank and articulate stories alongside key professionals from the House of Lords, Victim Support, BACP, Howard League for Penal Reform and Prison Reform Trust. It is a shocking fact that a therapeutic practice offering clear and positive results was stopped dead in its tracks. This film presents a powerful case for the re-instating of SVI in UK prisons.
