On Monday, November 4th, she spoke to an audience at John Jay College about her research unearthing archival evidence of the experience of Macedonian Jews sent to Treblinka during the Holocaust. Nearly the entire population of Macedonian Jews was murdered there, leaving scholars, historians and the world with the question: when the victims cannot speak for themselves, who tells their story? How can archives speak on behalf of "lost voices"?
