History From the Blue Mountain Clinic Webstie
Blue Mountain Women's Clinic was founded in 1977, as a feminist based health clinic to address the lack of access to abortion care in Montana. In 1991,

Blue Mountain Women's Clinic evolved into Blue Mountain Clinic Family Practice, which expanded services to include primary care for the needs of Missoula's men, women and children. Here at Blue Mountain Clinic we believe that reproductive care should be mainstreamed into the continuum of all health care, rather than remain separate and marginalized. We believe that these feminist ethics of patient choice that govern reproductivity must be extended to all facets of an individual's health care experience. Choice, then, covers the entire spectrum of healthcare.
At Blue Mountain Clinic, we walk with patients, honoring their needs and decisions, in a comfortable, friendly and "homey" environment.

Blue Mountain Clinic Arson:
March 29, 1993
On March 29, 1993- anti-choice activists firebombed Blue Mountain Clinic in a violent attempt to stop the clinic from providing legal access to abortion care.
The arsonist destroyed the clinic. Fortunately, no one was harmed; and the Missoula community responded in an almost immediate call to rebuild.
After two and a half years of tears, sweat and generous support, the clinic was back on its feet in a new building specifically designed to withstand another attack. In September of 1995, the Clinic reopened in our current location on California Street. In 2013, Blue Mountain Clinic celebrated 20 years since the attack in 1993.
