Dia Lacaba has a dream that the Philippines economy can grow through the success of home-grown global companies and that all levels of society can participate in and benefit from that growth, especial

ly the poor.
She also believes that each person can do the kind of work they have an aptitude for and be a part of nation-building at the same time. Dia is doing just that.
She successfully applied for an Australia Awards Scholarship to boost her skills and in 2012 moved to Sydney to undertake a Masters in Commerce specialising in International Business at the University of New South Wales.
She returned to the Philippines in 2014 as the International Business Manager for the Filipino social enterprise brand Human Nature. She is now building their domestic and international success as a global business with a heart.
Human Nature is a pro-poor social enterprise brand so every product Dia helps to sell internationally is also helping Filipino communities.
Dia hopes she is also contributing in her own way to the Philippines and the quality of life of its citizens.
She recalls from her scholarship learning about the pathways to success taken by Japan, South Korea and Singapore—global giants who grew largely through the rise of domestic businesses supported by government.
Human Nature also supports the Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm, a project where several international brands help Filipino entrepreneurs to bring their ideas to life and challenges them to aspire for greatest social impact.
Dia gets immense joy from seeing regular Filipinos doing things that they have a passion for—whether it be creating art for marketing collaterals, collaborating with suppliers to produce affordable products for Filipino consumers, or providing excellent customer service. All of which can contribute to the growth of the country.
Every day at Human Nature Dia Lacaba not only sees the growth of new social enterprises, she sees concrete proof that her dream for an improved standard of living for all Filipinas can become a reality.
