tt provides an introduction to his GLAM Workbench and discuss in more detail a set of Jupyter Notebooks he developed to analyse data from web archives. “Asking questions with web archives – introductory notebooks for historians” is an IIPC funded project which was led by Tim and Andy Jackson of the British Library, in partnership with the National Library of Australia and the National Library of New Zealand.
Tim Sherratt is a historian and hacker who researches the possibilities and politics of digital cultural collections. Tim has worked across the cultural heritage sector and has been developing online resources relating to libraries, archives, museums and history since 1993. His creations include useful things like the GLAM Workbench, strange things like the Vintage Face Depot, and important things like The Real Face of White Australia.
