"Once our Supreme Commander Kim Jong-un issues the order, the special forces will charge with determination and thrust a sword through the enemy's heart, like lightning over Mt. Paektu." The identity of the unit was confirmed on Monday by Pyongyang's state-run newspaper Rodong-sinmun, and although they were seen in public for the first time on Saturday during a commemorative military parade, leader Kim Jong-un reportedly watched them carry out a special shooting contest on Thursday. North Korea observers have interpreted the unveiling of the new forces as a response to the U.S. military's decision to involve the Navy's Seal Team Six in this year's South-Korea-U.S. joint annual military drills.
